The recent creation of Assemblies of Orthodox Bishops around the non-Orthodox world, now gives specific venues for discussions regarding the renewed interest in forming independent (and possibly Autocephalous) Orthodox Churches on a territorial basis in non-Orthodox lands. Therefore, with the creation of these Assemblies in the USA, Canada and Latin America (whose mandate is to unite all Orthodox churches in these three territories into distinct jurisdictions), discussions regarding the ROEA (OCA) and ROAA (BOR) unity/merger issue are now obsolete, particularly after 5 years of total inactivity. Thus, the May 2012 Administrator article remains valid. |
